Casino Kit Purse. 1960s. Maker: General Crafts Corp. This is the newest--and the coolest--addition to my extensive collection of kit purses. The very week that I commented that I was coveting a gambling-themed kit purse, I discovered this gorgeous work of art at an online auction. I’m a very lucky gal when it comes to finding treasures. I just hope this purse brings me luck next time I play poker!

Fabulous! You would have been in heaven yesterday- my daughter and I went to the Folsom Peddlars Fair and this one woman had every purse ever created in the 20th century. Everything from snap-hinged chain mail to 40's croc to lucite to kit purses to 80's liz claiborne. It was amazing! I sure wish I had gotten her business card.

Holly: I couldn't believe it! It was meant to be.

Bettsi: Welcome! I would have loved to see that purse collection. I'm assuming she was a seller--something I haven't quite worked up to when it comes to my purses. Maybe when they start spilling out of their designated area, I'll be forced to get rid of a few. Or maybe my kids will move out by then and I'll have two more bedrooms to use for storage!

Love love love your blog. Today I found a General Crafts applique by numbers bag myself, and researching via Google, I came upon this site. I know I'll be spending some quality time drooling on the monitor :)
