Lucite Clutch with Square Gems. 1950s. Maker: Unknown. Marbleized pearl white plastic clutch purse with goldtone hardware and interesting square pieces with inset rhinestones. The pieces are set into both sides of the bag. I saw a very similar purse online and it went for a ridiculous amount of money. I swear, one of these days, I’m going to have to sell off part of my collection and buy something fabulous—like health insurance. (P.S. Happy Birthday to my eldest, who is 19 today. Now go get a job!)

I wish I'd collected more Lucite bags, but I think my fashion taste runs more toward goofy (me) rather than elegant (you). And, yep, I have a 19-year-old. At least, I THINK I do. There's some evidence, including piles of laundry, half-empty Doritos bags and a variety of hair accesories strewn all over the place. She's finishing up culinary school, so when she gets that Le Cordon Bleu Diplome, I'm hoping to see her more often. Working. At a good job, worthy of that expensive culinary degree. And, possibly, doing her OWN laundry on her days off.

This one is beautiful! I'm a sucker for Lucite and rhinestones.

I just found the same bag, but in Black, in my neighbors garbage can! Any idea what it is worth?
Nice site by the way.
Thanks for your help.

Hey Marissa: I can't remember what I paid for mine, but I'm guessing around $10. You may wish to check around, but I suspect online or at an antique store or vintage expo, it'd be around $50. Congrats on finding a black one. That's cool!
